Thank you to everyone who was able to attend our Drive for Team Canada event!

The event was an incredible success and the entire BMW Markham team would like to thank you for spending the day with us! For those of you who were unable to make it, this special event offered Canadians the chance to show their Canadian pride and athlete support leading into the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Participants had the opportunity to meet Canadian Olympic Silver Medalist Jason Burnett, experience the performance of BMW first-hand by getting behind the wheel for a test drive, and most importantly, raise funds for Canadian athletes.

BMW Canada will be donating $10 to the Canadian Olympic Foundation for each test drive taken during the event and we’re happy to announce that over 130 test drives had been completed at BMW Markham alone!

“It was a pleasure and an honour to host the Drive For Team Canada event,” said Jim Cochrane, President, BMW Markham. “It was wonderful seeing such a great turnout with so many of our valued customers coming in to show their support leading into the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.”

“At BMW, we are driven by passion and performance,” said Kevin Marcotte, Marketing Director, BMW Canada. “We believe these events are a great way to get Canadians warmed up for the upcoming summer Olympics, and to help Canadians show support for our athletes heading into the Olympic Games. Meeting an Olympian is a tremendous experience; their passion, energy and determination are tangible and inspiring. We’re proud to be able to offer that kind of memorable event for Canadians, and at the same time to introduce them to our all-new BMW X1, and the rest of our powerful line-up.”

Although most of our vehicles were available for test drives all day, here’s one that was strictly on display:

That’s right, event participants received an exclusive preview of the BMW M4 GTS- the fastest BMW in production. Jason Burnett sure was happy to see it for the first time!
